Sebastian Vettel was just 0.144 seconds behind Lewis Hamilton who set the quickest time in Free Practice 1.
The Red Bull Ring track temperature was up to 43’C and is set to rise for Sunday’s Grand Prix.
As with most of the 2019 season Tyres once again was the talking point, with all the teams voting on a potential revert to 2018 tyres.
It was reported that a 50% in favour and 50 % against was voted.
Valterri Bottas had a suspected oil leak with his engine and had to use an older spec engine in this session.
The sausage Kerbs are causing great concern for the drivers with Front wing damage a major concern for the weekend.
Max Verstappen was 5th quickest with his team mate Pierre Gasly behind him in 6th position .
