By Harry Schofield:

After all the practice and Qualifying sessions the wait was finally over.

Sebastian Vettel got a good start from Lewis Hamilton with no major incidents going into turn 1.

Lando Norris was the first retirement of the Race with a suspected brake failure which melted the rear suspension and retired the McLaren.

Sebastian Vettel was the first driver to pit at lap 27 causing Lewis Hamilton to push as Sebastian was trying for the under cut.

Ferrari’s pit stop of Sebastian totally destroyed Mercedes strategy and Lewis tyres was costing him too much time, they should have reacted sooner to maintain the pace.

Lap 29 Sebastian set the fasted lap, causing further concerns for Mercedes.

Renault looked increasingly strong at half distance with both drivers  in the top 10 with good pace.

Sebastian Vettel came under attack from Lewis Hamilton on lap 49 and the Ferrari ran wide but maintained position.

Ferrari although looked a well balanced car, it was suspected the new spec engine is running at unknown operating windows, so due concern on the Ferrari pit wall for most of the Race.

Lap 55 The Hass of Kevin was struggling with the grip of the car, with full audio from the car confirming this.

Lap 57 Sebastain Vettel was handed a 5 second penalty for a unsafe rejoin to the track when  Lewis Hamilton  made a move on him at Lap 49.

The race was wide open again, Sebastian tried to open up the gap to cover his time penalty but he was no more than a whisper under a second away from second place man Lewis Hamilton, so Lewis even though he was behind, he was in the running to win the Race.

Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix with Sebastian’s controversial 5 second penalty, through the race into such controversy which was a huge disappointment to the fans.

This is not racing a major look, needs to followed up with the FIA,

Canadian Grand Prix Results: ( awaiting FIA confirmation)
