2019 FIA Formula One Pirelli Grand Prix de France: Preview

This weekend kicks off the summer season of the Formula 1 calendar with 5 races in just 7 weeks.


The Host this weekend is The French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, not far from the town of Marseille.


The Circuit is 3.630 miles long with 15 corners, Race distance is 192.393 miles long.


This weekend is the 16th time The  Paul Ricard Circuit has been used on the Formula 1 Calendar, Most noticeable was the period 1971 - 1990 with Alain Prost taking the last victory for a French man  on the track in 1990.


The return to the track last year was very impressive, with vast improvements throughout the complex both for fans and teams alike .


Tyres continue to dominate the 2019 season, the tyres available this weekend are C2, C3 and C4 compounds from Pirelli.


To complicate things more this weekend, the track has been extensively resurfaced since last years Grand Prix, with approximately a third of the lap being resurfaced.


Sebastian Vettel will be out to prove a point yet again this weekend, with the upset of the Canadian Grand Prix, The team aswell as its driver’s must re group and attack Mercedes before the Championship is lost.


Renault with the added pressure of there home Grand prix look strong from a good points position in the Canadian Grand prix.
